spacemusic 2012-02-19 ….is wondering…. how many site hosters do have GOOD uptime? We're about to leave our "Award Winning" guys after 7 years…. 3 days ago from Twitter for Mac
Hello space, yesterday Rotterdam had snow again; the last snow for this season? After a serious frosty period the last few weeks (till an insane minus 22.9C) we can now take a deep breath again, no Elfstedentocht, no more outdoor skating, it's done. Temperatures rise this week till plus 6 Celsius. All snow and ice will fade away... It was fun. Two pictures posted here, both taken in Rotterdam yesterday afternoon. Small detail: the central heating in the house, humidity being only 25%, makes you scratch the skin and...part of the plants collection didn't survive.

Today felt good. Higher temperatures had this positive effect on me. Went outside and decided to get at least one plant for now to cheer this room up a bit! The color green was needed.... green fingers as well. And so I did. Mental distraction. Kind of a Valentine's gift to myself.... Like the old Dutch expression says: "als je jezelf niet kietelt, lach je niet". It means something like "if you don't tickle yourself, you won't laugh". The rest of the day was slowwww. Listening to some demo albums, internet chillout radio streams, trying not to think too much. Physical condition today: not too bad. Not too much of pain after couple of bad days in a row. Appointment in the hospital next week. Intestine research. Fingers crossed.

It's cold in The Netherlands! Be careful when you go out.... it's freeze-your-nose time. Watching the 8 o'clock news yesterday I was kind of shocked how this country reacts to serious winter effects... the public transport system has gone crazy, cars bumping into eachother, continuous warnings about outdoor ice skating etc. Coldest place: Lelystad (Flevoland) minus 22.9C / -9.4F @ the display.... Cool! Luckily this winter also has it's positive side: beautiful pictures, fun on the ice and in the snow, the real wintery feelings! I always say: the more winter it becomes, the more fun you get when coming home and enjoying the central heating system and hot soup!

Seriously, of course we're not really used to the ice scene; it's not every year we experience these extremely low temperatures. The other day I bought a pair of snow boots, wearing this extra pair of socks, boots a bit over-sized, just wandering around and hear the sound of crackling snow... Remember "footsteps in the snow" ? a phrase coming from the opening for a Spacemusic show back in 2005. Walking in the snow LIVE in Rotterdam with this portable toy-like microphone; the show caused this gigantic download boost (over 50,000 downloads) and tons of comment from all over the planet. Soundseeing was born! The perfect way to enjoy music and imagining a person walking outside in the big city at the same time... Soundseeing for me came from something I already liked when I was young: listening to the 'hoorspel' on Dutch radio back in the 80's.... From radio to podcast. Seriously, enjoy winter!

So last week I have recorded the new podcast 7.5 and I have to say... it has become a truly fantastic show with super cool music! It seems the music is getting better each episode ;-) While recording I was starting to feel really happy about my throat/voice, as it got better and better. Doing regular vocal exercises and following programs @ a specialist. Unfortunately the pills I was on earlier had this crazy effect on me and I started to suffer from abdominal pains. Now first I had to look up what 'abdominal' stands for; it's all about the area like stomach, colon, small intestine, liver, gallbladder, spleen and pancreas. So much for my English lessons today! ;-) To the point: pain is no fun when experiencing it in this area. Couple of days ago I couldn't get any sleep because of it. No good. Went to the doctor again. Now, I have to wait for further investigations in the hospital planned for next week. That's seven more days to go and it feels like a long time... Of course when things should get unbearable there's always the 1-1-2 rescue line but let's hope this won't be necessary. I will post the new spacemusic podcast 7.5 tomorrow, feb 1st 2012. Please enjoy the show and let me know what you think. ~TC

It has been almost two months now....  recovering from throat pains and voice problems. Small update for you all. How are you doing? Did you all have a great season time? How does this new year feel for you? It's 2012.... the magical one. The one year that will prove us many things. First of all, I hope 2b able to post another blog entry same time next year. If I can, then all is ok and we should not have worried about these figures  - 2 0 1 2 - .

Had a small walk this afternoon before an important phone call later. Trying to reset the mind, breathing fresh air, shooting some pics and forget about certain persons in my life, again. Simply because it needs to be that way, I think. Therefore, time to relax, the pics are nice as well, I just imported them from the cam to my Mac; images taken near Maassluis, app. 20 km's between Hoek van Holland and Rotterdam. Love this small iXus device, the way it works, simple and ... it safes me from taking the bigger and heavier DSLR device. Surely, I will switch to the EOS cam when the angle of the sun will enter Spring. Plenty of time for that crazy hobby ;-)

The phone call went well. Very well I must say. It was a briefing about future plans. Getting energy from talking about it, thinking about it. So yes, I felt great the rest of the afternoon! Talking is certainly getting better. First priority: focussing on the breathing and taking the time to tell a story without forcing the muscles. No more squeezing the words out.... Better to take twice the time instead of the risk destroying the throat. Perhaps it all sounds simple and very natural but for me, it's like learning how to speak again, from scratch: relax, breathe in -speak- breath in again -spreak-

..... breath in again: speak soon! Cheers, ~TC
